Gaza: An Israeli drone strike on a Palestinian security checkpoint claimed the lives of three Palestinians and left others injured in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, medical sources reported Thursday. The casualties were transported to the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, where medical personnel are currently treating the injured.

According to Anadolu Agency, earlier in the day, three Palestinians suffered minor injuries following an Israeli strike that targeted a food warehouse and vacant land in the same vicinity. Witnesses from the area noted that the attack led to fires erupting in several tents that were housing displaced Palestinians.

In a separate incident in Gaza City, a medical source confirmed that one Palestinian was killed and several others sustained injuries when an Israeli drone targeted a group of civilians behind Imam Al-Shafi'i Mosque in the Zeitoun neighborhood. Witnesses also reported that Israeli artillery shelled locations near Al-Sanafour junction in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City.

The violence follows a deadly airstrike on Wednesday, the first day of the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday, which resulted in the deaths of 10 Palestinians, including two girls and two women. The airstrike, which hit a house near Al-Israa Tower on Omar Al-Mukhtar Street in central Gaza City, left 18 others injured.

According to the Gaza Media Office, Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of 910 Palestinians and injuries to 2,747 since a ceasefire was agreed upon more than seven months ago. The conflict escalated in October 2023 when Israel launched a war on the Gaza Strip, which has claimed the lives of over 72,000 Palestinians and injured more than 172,000, with the majority being women and children.
