Ankara: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it struck "enemy bases" in Kuwait and Bahrain after US drones attacked sites on Iranian territory, Tasnim News reported Saturday. Iran's IRGC targeted the Ali al-Salem air base in Kuwait and key US Navy Fifth Fleet facilities in Bahrain with ballistic missiles, escalating tensions in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, the strikes were a direct response to American drone attacks on a telecommunications tower on Qeshm Island and another in Sirik, as stated by the IRGC. The Iranian force issued a stern warning that any further aggression would be met with a more severe response, including the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Such an action could disrupt oil and gas shipments, potentially causing significant fluctuations in global energy markets and fears of extended economic repercussions.
