Israeli Drone Strikes in Southern Lebanon Result in Casualties Amid US-Iran Agreement

Beirut: Three people were killed and three others injured on Thursday as Israeli drone strikes targeted two vehicles in southern Lebanon, as reported by Lebanese state media. These attacks occurred despite the implementation of a US-Iran agreement aimed at halting the conflict across all fronts, including Lebanon.

According to Anadolu Agency, one of the strikes occurred near the Kfar Tebnit-Arnon roundabout in the Nabatieh area, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, as confirmed by Lebanon's National News Agency. In a separate incident, a young man was killed in the town of Zebdine during a dawn drone strike, which coincided with artillery shelling on Jabal al-Ahmar, located on the outskirts of the town.

Further aggression was reported in the southern Lebanese town of Beit Yahoun, where an Israeli drone dropped a bomb, injuring two people, as per the agency's reports. These attacks happen amidst ongoing tensions along the Lebanese-Israeli border, despite the recent agreement signed between Washington and Tehran aimed at ceasing hostilities that followed Israeli and US attacks on Iran on February 28.

Iranian officials have emphasized that stopping Israeli military actions across regional fronts, particularly in Lebanon, remains a primary goal of the Iran-US memorandum. Nonetheless, Israel has maintained its offensive on Lebanon since March 2, resulting in 3,912 deaths, 11,873 injuries, and the displacement of over one million people, based on the latest official data.

Israel continues to occupy certain areas in southern Lebanon, some for decades and others since the most recent conflict between the two nations. During this military campaign, Israeli forces have reportedly advanced more than 10 kilometers into Lebanese territory.
