Doha: At least 54 people were injured and 18 reported missing after an explosion at a factory in Qatar, the country's Interior Ministry announced early Monday. The incident occurred at Ras Laffan Industrial City and was attributed to a technical problem.
According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry made the announcement on X, a US-based social media platform. Civil defense teams, along with the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group, are actively conducting search operations to locate those still missing after the explosion.
In a prior statement on Sunday, the ministry confirmed that no leaks threatening public safety had been recorded. Further details about the incident have not been disclosed.
