Ankara: Trkiye's defense industry at this week's NATO summit in the Turkish capital Ankara emphasized its role as a 'trusted solution partner' for friendly and allied countries, as defense and aerospace exports surpassed $11 billion over the past 12 months.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Defense Industries Secretariat stated on US social media firm X that Trkiye carried out around 56% of its defense and aerospace exports over the past year to fellow NATO countries. The announcement coincided with the conclusion of the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit in Ankara, where topics such as allied defense production, deterrence, interoperability, and industrial cooperation were among the key items discussed.

The Defense Industries Secretariat highlighted that it coordinates a defense industrial ecosystem consisting of more than 4,000 companies while managing over 1,400 projects simultaneously. This ecosystem is pivotal to transforming Trkiye's national capabilities into global partnerships through defense industry diplomacy.

The statement further elaborated on the wide range of capabilities Trkiye provides, including unmanned aerial systems, jet trainers, command and control centers, military software, naval and land platforms, and electronic warfare technologies. These efforts underscore Trkiye's position as a trusted solution partner for its friends and allies.

Additionally, the secretariat noted that the defense industry's export value per kilogram has reached 40 times the Turkish average, a testament to Trkiye's advancement in high-technology manufacturing.
