Latakia: Turkish Ambassador to Damascus Nuh Yilmaz announced that naval cooperation and solidarity between Trkiye and Syria are expanding.
According to Anadolu Agency, a Turkish military delegation led by Naval Forces Commander Adm. Ercument Tatlioglu visited the Port of Latakia. The visit was in response to an invitation from Syrian Navy Commander Brig. Gen. Mohammed Al-Saud. Yilmaz conveyed this information via the US social media company X, emphasizing the strengthening relationship between the two nations in the naval domain.
Yilmaz expressed pride in hosting the Turkish delegation, highlighting the presence of the TCG Istanbul frigate in Latakia as a source of pride. The visit aimed to bolster cooperation between Trkiye and Syria and support the restructuring of the Syrian Armed Forces, as outlined in a statement by the National Defense Ministry shared on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
Upon arrival, Adm. Tatlioglu and his delegation were welcomed by Brig. Gen. Al-Saud, with both leaders engaging in delegation-level discussions. Turkish Ambassador Yilmaz was also present during these meetings, which included inspections at the Latakia Military Port.
