Iran Accuses US of Striking Wheat Silo and Facility in Khuzestan

Sanaa: A wheat storage silo and another facility in Iran's southwestern Khuzestan province were reportedly hit by US projectiles overnight, as stated by a provincial official. Valiollah Hayati, the deputy governor of Khuzestan for security and law enforcement affairs, confirmed that a wheat silo in Hoveyzeh County and an additional site in Dasht-e Azadegan County were targeted.

According to Anadolu Agency, Hayati mentioned that no casualties had been reported from the incidents. He further stated that evaluations of the damage were underway and that more information would be disclosed as it becomes available.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump indicated that military strikes on Iran would persist and intensify in the coming days. He issued a stern warning that the US would start targeting Iran's power infrastructure and bridges the following week unless Tehran agreed to resume negotiations.

The situation has heightened tensions between the US and Iran, particularly concerning the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Both countries have engaged in retaliatory strikes despite a Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding intended to de-escalate the conflict and establish a lasting peace agreement. In response, Iran has lodged a complaint with the UN, accusing the US of breaching the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
