Morocco Joins International Stabilization Force in Gaza

Sanaa: Morocco signed an agreement to participate in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in the Gaza Strip by deploying senior officers to the ISF joint command, as announced by the military. The agreement was finalized following a meeting in Rabat between Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Defense Minister Abdellatif Loudiyi, and the Board of Peace's lead envoy for Gaza, Nikolay Mladenov. The Royal Armed Forces highlighted that the meeting was held upon the instructions of King Mohammed VI.

According to Anadolu Agency, the agreement provides a legal framework governing Morocco's participation in the multinational force, addressing technical and operational aspects. It underscores a shared commitment to contributing to peace and security through humanitarian and security initiatives. The participation reflects Morocco's dedication to peace, cooperation, and international solidarity.

The Board of Peace officials expressed approval of Morocco's decision to join the initiative by assigning senior officers to the ISF joint command in Gaza. This development follows US President Donald Trump's announcement on September 29, 2025, of a 20-point plan to end the conflict in Gaza. The plan includes measures such as the release of Israeli hostages, a partial Israeli military withdrawal, the formation of a technocratic government, the deployment of an international stabilization force, and the disarmament of Hamas.

The first phase of this plan took effect on October 10, 2025. However, while Hamas claims it has fulfilled its obligations under the initial phase, Israel has yet to implement its commitments and continues its daily attacks. Since October 2023, Israel's offensive in Gaza has resulted in over 73,000 deaths and more than 173,000 injuries.
