Kuwait Says Several Firefighters Wounded Following Iranian Attacks

Brussels: Kuwait's Fire Force reported on Saturday that several firefighters sustained injuries while responding to fires at two locations that were targeted in Iranian attacks. "The first incident resulted in several injuries among firefighters and a civilian worker while battling the blaze," the force stated in a release circulated by the state-run news agency KUNA. The affected site was evacuated, and the injured individuals were transported to receive necessary medical treatment.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kuwait's Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Ministry earlier announced that a fire broke out at a component of a power generation and water desalination plant. This incident followed Iranian attacks that occurred early Saturday. The events are part of rising tensions in the Middle East, where the United States launched strikes on Iran, prompting retaliatory strikes by Tehran on regional countries, including Kuwait, which is home to US assets.

The exchange of fire between Washington and Tehran continues despite a Pakistan-brokered memorandum of understanding signed in June aimed at ending the conflict and achieving a lasting peace agreement.
