Sanaa: The Israeli army executed a large-scale demolition operation in southern Lebanon, coinciding with the flight of Israeli drones over Beirut and its suburbs, marking a new breach of a US-mediated framework agreement, as reported by Lebanese media.

According to Anadolu Agency, the state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported that a significant explosion was heard before noon, attributed to an Israeli demolition operation in Kfartebnit, a town in southern Lebanon. This caused thick plumes of smoke to rise above the area, confirming the demolition's impact.

In another development within the southern Marjayoun district, the Lebanese army conducted controlled detonations in Qlayaa, resulting in three consecutive explosions. These detonations were part of an ongoing program initiated by the Lebanese army command to clear unexploded ordnance, shells, and rockets left from previous conflicts between July 15 and 20.

Furthermore, the NNA disclosed that an Israeli drone deployed a stun grenade over the town of Mansouri in Tyre, located in southern Lebanon. The drone activity extended to Israeli warplanes performing mock raids along Lebanon's northern border and over the mountainous areas of Akkar in the north and Hermel in the east.

These incidents occur in the context of continued Israeli military actions in Lebanon, despite a framework agreement between Beirut and Tel Aviv, mediated by the US last month. The agreement outlines a phased Israeli withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territories, contingent upon the Lebanese army assuming full security responsibilities in vacated areas and the disarmament of armed groups, including Hezbollah.

Official Lebanese statistics indicate that Israeli attacks in Lebanon have resulted in 4,328 fatalities and 12,227 injuries since March 2. Israel remains in control of parts of southern Lebanon, with some areas occupied for decades and others seized during the conflict between October 2023 and November 2024.
