Beirut: The Kremlin on Monday dismissed reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump could discuss an air ceasefire in Ukraine, calling them "nothing more than media speculation."

According to Anadolu Agency, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated during a briefing that there were no concrete proposals or details regarding any new formulas or proposals for negotiations. Peskov emphasized the lack of substance behind the reports, reiterating, "There are no concrete details on this matter."

Peskov also addressed the topic of arming Russian merchant vessels, emphasizing adherence to international maritime law. He clarified that while merchant vessels cannot be armed, the Russian Navy could take measures to protect them. This comment referred to Russian President Vladimir Putin's remarks on safeguarding the country's commercial fleet.

In response to Zelenskyy's claims about Russia's military plans, Peskov declined to comment on the allegation that Russia is considering recruiting North Korean troops for the conflict in Ukraine. "I don't think it's necessary to comment on. It's not for Zelenskyy to talk about our plans," he stated.

Zelenskyy had previously claimed that Russia is seeking to bring 30,000 North Korean troops to participate in the war with Ukraine and that Pyongyang is preparing to transfer new ballistic missile launchers to Russia.
