Ankara: Trkiye's intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin met with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani in Ankara to deliberate on bilateral ties, regional developments, and security cooperation.
According to Anadolu Agency, the discussions were geared towards enhancing Trkiye-Syria relations, exploring areas of bilateral cooperation, and engaging in dialogue about relations with neighboring countries. The agenda included regional stability and recent developments in Lebanon, as well as Syria-Lebanon ties.
The meeting also addressed the potential impact of Trkiye's proposed Bill on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Cohesion on Syria. Both parties examined ongoing progress in the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and methods to reinforce terrorism countermeasures.
Kalin and Shaibani emphasized the constructive measures being implemented to complete the SDF integration process. They acknowledged Syria's continued efforts in combating the Daesh terrorist group to maintain stability within the country.
Additionally, the dialogue covered the political and economic effects of the US-Israel-Iran conflict on the region, the latest updates on sanctions imposed on Syria, and opportunities for investment in the nation. The meeting reiterated Syria's commitment to staying uninvolved in recent regional conflicts and wars.
