Kabul: More than 52 people were injured when a hand grenade exploded near a school in Afghanistan's capital on Monday, local media reported. The incident occurred in the Dasht-e-Barchi area of Kabul's 18th police district, causing panic and chaos among the students and residents.
According to Anadolu Agency, the explosion was caused by a hand grenade that detonated near a private school. Khalid Zadran, a spokesman for the Kabul police, confirmed the details, stating that the injured were quickly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Eyewitnesses reported that the grenade was in the possession of a student and exploded in his hand, leading to the injuries. Security teams arrived at the scene promptly, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
