Israeli Airstrike on Gaza Police Station Leaves 9 Palestinians Dead and 15 Injured

Gaza city: At least nine Palestinians, including police officers and children, were killed on Wednesday, and more than 15 others were injured, when an Israeli airstrike hit a police station in central Gaza City, according to local medical sources.

According to Anadolu Agency, a medical source at the Al-Shifa Hospital confirmed that the bodies of nine slain Palestinians, along with more than 15 injured individuals, were brought to the hospital following the strike. The latest fatalities increase the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday to ten, after another individual was killed when a strike targeted a motorcycle in the Nuseirat refugee camp.

Gaza's Interior and National Security Ministry described the attack as a 'new brutal massacre' by Israel, targeting a municipal police station. In a statement, the ministry accused Israel of attempting to 'disable the police force to spread chaos within Palestinian society' and dismissed Israel's justifications for the attack.

The ministry also condemned what it termed as 'international silence' over repeated attacks on Gaza's police force, criticizing the lack of effective action by mediators, which it claimed has emboldened Israel to conduct further attacks on police personnel.

According to the latest figures from the Gaza Health Ministry, Israeli violations of the ceasefire have resulted in the deaths of 1,273 Palestinians and injuries to more than 4,000 since last October, when the ceasefire agreement was implemented.
