Brussels: Belgium could record its hottest summer since weather records began in 1833, with the average seasonal temperature expected to reach around 20.2-20.3C (68.4-68.5F), meteorologist David Dehenauw said Friday. Dehenauw, of the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium, highlighted the potential for this summer to surpass the previous record set in 2018, when the seasonal average reached 19.8C (67.6F).

According to Anadolu Agency, the final figures are anticipated to be released by the Royal Meteorological Institute on September 1, confirming whether this summer will indeed be the hottest on record. The temperature projections signal a significant climatic milestone for Belgium, indicating a notable increase from previous years.
