Ankara: Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus stated on Wednesday that Israel is concerned about Trkiye's influence in fostering peace and unity in the region. Kurtulmus emphasized Ankara's dedication to uniting communities that have been divided by terrorism and conflict.
According to Anadolu Agency, Kurtulmus highlighted Israel's apprehension, stating, "Israel fears only Trkiye. It fears the climate of peace and brotherhood that Trkiye will create in its region, and we must make this happen." He made these remarks during the Afyonkarahisar Civil Society Meeting, underscoring the shared civilizational heritage of the region's ethnic communities.
Kurtulmus addressed the importance of a unified region, noting that "all the ethnic elements of this region are parts of the same civilization." He pointed to Trkiye's efforts in promoting a Terror-Free Trkiye and a terror-free region as a means to reunite fragmented communities.
He also deemed the recent announcement regarding the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as significant. "The statement that the SDF has dissolved itself as an organization is important, historic and valuable for us. God willing, the continuation of this process will follow this statement," Kurtulmus added.
