US Secures Control Over Venezuelan Oil Reserves Through Landmark Deal

Washington: The United States has finalized a significant agreement with Venezuela, granting it majority control over more than 65 billion barrels of the country's proven oil reserves. This development was confirmed by US President Donald Trump, marking a pivotal moment in the diplomatic relations between the two nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodriguez has described the agreement as a 'historic milestone' that will be instrumental in reviving the nation's economy. She emphasized that the deal is expected to attract investments exceeding $100 billion and generate over $209 billion in tax revenue for Venezuela. The agreement is seen as a strategic move to bolster the economic ties between the US and Venezuela while providing a much-needed boost to the Venezuelan economy.

In other news, the death toll from the devastating floods and landslides in Nepal has risen to 623. Rescue operations continue as search teams work tirelessly to recover bodies swept away by the floodwaters. The police have confirmed the recovery of 616 bodies, with at least 638 individuals still missing.
