Yemeni Army Targets Houthi Military Camp in Al-Jawf Province

Sanaa: The Yemeni army announced that it successfully targeted a Houthi military camp in the northern region of Al-Jawf province, effectively destroying military capabilities at the location.

According to Anadolu Agency, army spokesman Majid al-Nuzaili stated that the operation was directed at the Al-Labanat camp and utilized 'specialized capabilities' recently introduced into service. The statement, broadcasted by state television, highlighted the destruction of Houthi capabilities and the neutralization of personnel, though specific details regarding the weapons used or the number of casualties were not disclosed.

Yemen has experienced a relative lull in hostilities since April 2022, following nearly 12 years of conflict between government forces, supported by a Saudi-led coalition, and the Iranian-backed Houthis, who took control of the capital Sanaa and large parts of the country in 2014. However, since late 2023, the escalation of war in the Gaza Strip has seen the Houthis becoming increasingly entangled in regional hostilities. They have launched attacks on Israel and commercial shipping in the Red Sea, raising fears of a potential resurgence of full-scale conflict in Yemen.
