Jenin: Two Palestinians, including a child, were injured by Israeli army gunfire early Sunday during military raids in the northern occupied West Bank cities of Jenin and Qalqilya, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said.

According to Anadolu Agency, the organization stated that its medical teams treated a 50-year-old man who sustained injuries from live ammunition in the hand and leg during an Israeli army raid in the Al-Jabriyat area of Jenin. The wounded man was transferred to a hospital for further treatment.

In the city of Qalqilya, a Palestinian child was also shot with live ammunition in the thigh during a separate Israeli military raid. The child was taken to a hospital for medical care, as confirmed by the Red Crescent.

The occupied West Bank has been experiencing daily Israeli military raids along with escalating occupier attacks since the Gaza war began in October 2023. The Israeli army and occupiers have been involved in various aggressive acts including killings, arrests of Palestinians, home demolitions, destruction of agricultural land, and displacements, accompanied by continued settlement expansion.

Palestinians have expressed concerns that these measures are paving the way for Israel to formally annex the occupied West Bank. They assert that such actions would severely undermine the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state, as envisioned under relevant UN resolutions.
