Austria Denies Visa to Iran’s Nuclear Chief for IAEA Conference

Vienna: Austria denied a visa to Iran's nuclear chief Mohammad Eslami, preventing him from attending an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conference in the city, Iranian state broadcaster IRIB reported. Eslami, who leads the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, along with his delegation, had planned to travel to Vienna on Saturday but returned to Tehran after the visa denial. According to Anadolu Agency, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei confirmed the refusal of the visa on Monday, describing the action as 'absolutely unjustified.' He stated that Tehran has formally protested the decision and summoned Austria's charge d'affaires to discuss the issue. Baqaei emphasized that U.S. pressure should not interfere with host countries' responsibilities to fulfill their obligations.
