Cairo: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Cairo for a two-day official visit to Egypt, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. Abbas was welcomed at Cairo International Airport by Egyptian Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk and various Egyptian and Palestinian officials.

According to Anadolu Agency, Abbas is set to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Wednesday to discuss the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause. The discussions will also cover Arab and international issues of mutual interest. The agenda includes Egyptian-led efforts, in collaboration with regional and international partners, to offer humanitarian aid to Palestinians and support the reconstruction of regions impacted by ongoing conflict.

The visit occurs as Cairo intensifies diplomatic engagement regarding regional developments. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is also in Cairo for discussions with Sisi.

Additionally, Abbas is scheduled to meet Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy at the league's headquarters. Accompanying Abbas on this visit are Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh, Palestinian National Council Chairman Rawhi Fattouh, Fatah Central Committee member and intelligence chief Majed Faraj, among other officials.
