Sudanese Army Shoots Down Three Drones in Eastern Sudan

Khartoum: The Sudanese army has successfully shot down three drones in eastern Sudan, as reported by local media. The drones were intercepted by air defenses in the Al-Fashaga area of Gedaref state and Khashm al-Girba in Kassala state.

According to Anadolu Agency, the daily Sudan News described the drones as belonging to the 'enemy,' but did not identify their operator or provide information on any casualties or damage resulting from the incident. The ongoing conflict in Sudan has seen the nation engulfed in violence since April 2023.

Sudan has been grappling with intense fighting between the national army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since the conflict erupted earlier this year. This violent struggle has resulted in thousands of deaths and displaced millions, further exacerbating the country's humanitarian crisis.
