Cairo: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Cairo on Tuesday amid escalating tensions in the Middle East region.

According to Anadolu Agency, Bin Salman was received by President Sisi at Cairo International Airport earlier on Tuesday. The discussions between the two leaders are expected to focus on enhancing the relationship between Egypt and Saudi Arabia across various fields, as well as exchanging views on regional and international developments.

The visit takes place against a backdrop of rapidly evolving situations in the region, including tensions in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, and developments in Yemen, Sudan, and Palestine. Economic cooperation remains a vital aspect of Cairo-Riyadh relations, with increasing trade, investment, and joint projects between the two nations.

Bin Salman last visited Cairo on October 15, 2024, during which he held talks with Sisi on bilateral relations and regional and international issues.
