Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 12,948.83, registering a decrease of 1.32% or 173.74 points.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index had previously closed at 13,122.58 points on Wednesday, following a decline of 5.54%. The daily transaction volume was recorded at 262.4 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $5.39 billion.

As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT), the exchange rates were noted at 48.6750 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 56.0120 to the euro, and 65.3505 to the British pound.

In the commodities market, the price of an ounce of gold was $4,307.65, and Brent crude oil futures were trading at $104.15 per barrel.
