Burgas:The Netherlands will participate in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest following a previous decision to withdraw, as reported by Dutch broadcaster RTL.

According to Anadolu Agency, Dutch public broadcaster AVROTROS initially pulled out of the contest in August, citing a lack of neutrality due to ongoing geopolitical tensions. They expressed dissatisfaction with the measures put forward by the European Broadcasting Union to address these concerns.

Subsequently, AVROTROS transferred the responsibility for the country's Eurovision involvement back to the Dutch public broadcasting organization NPO, creating uncertainty about the Netherlands' participation.

The Netherlands had not participated in the 2026 contest for the first time in 24 years, with the decision influenced by Israel's participation and the ongoing war in Gaza. During that year, Spain, Ireland, Iceland, and Slovenia also withdrew, while the Dutch broadcaster NOS continued to air the event.

The 2027 Eurovision Song Contest is set to take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, with semifinals on May 11 and 13 and the final on May 15. While Ireland has confirmed its non-participation, Spain is reportedly contemplating a boycott.
