New York:Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan participated in a meeting titled 'International Support for Peace, Unity and Prosperity in Libya,' held alongside the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting included representatives from Germany, the United Arab Emirates, the UK, France, Italy, Qatar, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. Discussions focused on the UN-led political process in Libya, as well as economic prosperity and security.

During the meeting, Fidan highlighted the critical importance of Libya's stability and security for the broader region. He affirmed Turkey's commitment to actively contributing to these efforts, emphasizing the significance of his recent visit to Libya, where he met with officials in Tripoli and Benghazi.

Fidan reiterated Turkey's support for establishing a unified government in Libya under the 'One Libya' policy. He urged international partners to engage in dialogue with all Libyan parties and actors without discrimination, advocating for a political process that is led and owned by Libyans.

Turkey, Fidan noted, continues to provide capacity-building support aimed at unifying and strengthening Libya's economic and security institutions. He expressed Turkey's readiness to play a crucial role in areas where Libya requires assistance, including development and security, in the future.
