Ankara:Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is scheduled to visit the UAE on Monday to engage in discussions centered on bilateral relations and regional developments.

According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan will evaluate preparations for the second meeting of the T¼rkiye-UAE High-Level Strategic Council during his visit. He intends to reaffirm T¼rkiye's solidarity with the UAE, particularly in light of the challenges posed by the ongoing Gulf conflict. Fidan is expected to highlight that external interventions have prolonged regional disputes and emphasize the necessity for strengthening regional ownership.

Fidan will also address the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb, which is crucial for both regional and global stability. Additionally, he will advocate for a unified Yemen that has achieved peace and stability, underscoring its significance for Middle Eastern security.

The foreign minister plans to discuss advancing to the second phase of the Gaza peace plan, improving humanitarian conditions, and initiating reconstruction efforts. These consultations will involve the Board of Peace, a body in which both T¼rkiye and the UAE are founding members.

Fidan is expected to call for the international community to adopt a unified and decisive stance to uphold and solidify ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon amidst ongoing attacks attributed to "occupying Israel." His previous visit to the UAE occurred on March 20.

T¼rkiye and the UAE have shared a strategic partnership since 2023, with the High-Level Strategic Council's inaugural meeting held in Ankara on July 16, 2025. The UAE stands as the Gulf country with the largest investments in T¼rkiye and serves as T¼rkiye's most significant trading partner in the Gulf, with bilateral trade reaching $19.346 billion in 2025.
