Ankara:Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it has captured a US underwater drone in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Anadolu Agency, the IRGC stated that its naval forces seized the Remus 600, an advanced unmanned underwater vehicle. The drone is currently "in the hands of its specialists to retrieve information."

The IRGC emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and expressed its commitment to taking decisive action against unauthorized transit and dangerous maneuvers in the strait.

This development occurs amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The strait was closed by Tehran following US-Israeli attacks in February and a maritime blockade on Iran.
