Sudanese Doctors Accuse RSF of Hospital Looting in North Kordofan

Sodari:The Sudan Doctors Network has accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of looting and destroying Sodari Rural Hospital in the North Kordofan state, leaving the facility in ruins.

According to Anadolu Agency, the independent medical group reported that the hospital, which previously served over 50,000 families, had its infrastructure, devices, and medical equipment attacked and looted by the RSF. This has significantly deprived the local residents of essential health services amid severe humanitarian and health needs.

The Sudan Doctors Network described the looting and destruction as a direct attack on the right to healthcare, which severely undermines the health system's ability to serve civilians. They have urged the international community, along with humanitarian and rights organizations, to condemn these violations and to press the RSF to cease attacking medical sites and hold those responsible accountable.

There was no comment from the RSF regarding these accusations.

In related developments, the Sudanese army announced on Friday that it had regained control of the city of Sodari, inflicting personnel and equipment losses on the RSF. The army has been making advances in North Kordofan, capturing 11 areas in the state, including Hamrat al-Wiz in the Jabra al-Sheikh locality, Bara, and securing the main road linking Bara with Omdurman.

The ongoing conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF has affected the three Kordofan states since last October. The war, which began in 2023, has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and displaced around 13 million people, according to estimates by the UN and international organizations.
