Kyrgyzstan Collaborates with UAE to Launch First Satellite into Orbit

Bishkek:Kyrgyzstan Kyrgyzstan successfully launched its first satellite into orbit on Thursday, utilizing a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket that departed from the United States.

According to Anadolu Agency, the satellite was deployed from California's Vandenberg Space Force Base as part of a group launch involving multiple spacecraft on the same rocket.

This mission marks a joint venture between Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates, with operations set to be controlled from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan's capital. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov was present at the launch ceremony during his working visit to the U.S.

The satellite launch is expected to provide Kyrgyzstan with valuable space-based data to enhance various sectors. This includes the monitoring of agricultural lands, glaciers, water bodies, forests, and pastures, as well as observing changes in natural ecosystems.

Additionally, the satellite data will aid in detecting illegal activities such as the unauthorized extraction of natural resources and waste dumping. It will also help in optimizing logistics routes.

Satellite technology will be crucial for the monitoring and early detection of natural hazards. The data will allow Kyrgyzstan to identify signs of droughts, floods, landslides, mudflows, and forest fires more swiftly, enabling timely responses and potential damage mitigation.

Future plans include integrating satellite data with government digital systems to develop spatial maps and analytical models. This integration aims to support government decision-making, investment planning, and monitoring of state programs, ultimately leading to more effective management of the country's economic and natural resources.
