Swedish Social Democratic Leader Receives a New Mandate to Form Government

Stockholm:Swedish Parliament Speaker Andreas Norlen announced that he has given Social Democratic leader Magdalena Andersson another mandate to form a new government.

According to Anadolu Agency, the mandate will officially begin on Monday to allow the parties the weekend to consider their options. Norlen stated that the conditions remain the same as when Andersson was first tasked, making it suitable for her to continue her efforts to establish a government.

Andersson, who has reportedly agreed with Norlen's decision, is expected to report back on October 12. Following her report, a vote on the prime minister will be held. Norlen emphasized that it is beneficial to complete the mandate if one is given, expressing a desire to move beyond the previous week's turbulence.

Andersson's alliance won the majority of seats in the September 13 parliamentary election, leading to her initial task of forming a government in mid-September. However, she withdrew from this attempt later in the month, citing a lack of parliamentary support at that time.
