Israeli Army Conducts Shelling and Ground Incursion in Southern Syria

Accra:Southern Syria The Israeli military launched artillery strikes on a village in southern Syria and later engaged in a ground incursion, targeting residential areas, as reported by Alikhbaria TV.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli artillery hit the outskirts of the Abidin village located in the western part of Daraa province. The incident did not result in any immediate reports of casualties or damage. Abidin is situated in the Yarmouk Basin, a region that has faced repeated artillery targeting by Israel in September.

In a separate move, Israeli forces advanced into an area west of Sayda al-Hanout village in the southern Quneitra province, utilizing two tanks and other military vehicles. During this incursion, they opened fire toward residential neighborhoods.

The ongoing activity is part of a broader pattern of Israeli actions in Syria since the fall of the Assad regime in late 2024. Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa addressed these violations at the 81st UN General Assembly, highlighting that Israel has carried out approximately 500 airstrikes and artillery attacks, over 1,200 incursions, and around 300 arrests and detentions since that time.
