Palace of Versailles Closes Amid Widespread Power Outage

Versailles:The Palace of Versailles closed to the public on Tuesday due to a significant power outage affecting the Yvelines department in France. However, the palace's gardens remained accessible to visitors free of charge.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Palace of Versailles announced the closure on social media platform X, noting that the Domaine de Trianon, along with the Sofia Coppola exhibition, remained open despite the outage.

The Yvelines Prefecture confirmed that the power outage impacted the city of Versailles and nearby areas, leaving over 30,000 customers without electricity. Technical teams are actively investigating the cause of the outage.

Efforts to restore power have been underway, and many customers have had their electricity restored. As of the latest update, 4,600 customers in Versailles and 2,200 in Velizy are still affected, with operations ongoing to fully resolve the situation.
