Istanbul:Representatives from public institutions, local authorities, businesses, and the recycling industry of Türkiye and Czechia convened in Istanbul for the Türkiye-Czechia Sustainable Recycling Forum. The event aimed to explore new opportunities for cooperation in recycling and sustainable waste management.
According to Anadolu Agency, the forum was organized by the Czech Consulate General in Istanbul, the Our World Foundation, and the Climate and Sustainability Sciences Research Foundation (ISBAV), taking place at the Social Facilities Conference Hall on Istanbul Technical University's Maçka Campus. Key attendees included Istanbul Deputy Governor Cengiz Karabulut, Czech Consul General in Istanbul Olga Hajflerova, and various Turkish and Czech institutional representatives.
The forum provided a platform for discussions on sustainable waste management, recycling technologies, and potential commercial and technological partnerships between Turkish and Czech entities. Our World Foundation President Kahraman Haliscelik emphasized the objective of transforming dialogue into concrete projects and commercial partnerships, highlighting the strategic importance of recycling and sustainable waste management.
Czech Consul General Olga Hajflerova underscored the significance of creating new business connections and long-term partnerships between the countries. Presentations by Czech public institutions and businesses outlined cooperation opportunities in environmental protection and waste management.
The event also featured a panel on the future of recycling in Türkiye, discussing sustainable waste management and industry cooperation. Participants shared insights on adopting new technologies and expanding sustainable recycling models.
In the afternoon, Turkish and Czech companies engaged in business-to-business meetings to discuss potential partnerships. On the second day, the Czech delegation is set to visit recycling facilities in Kocaeli, continuing discussions and examining practices to develop long-term partnerships.
