Gaza:A Palestinian was killed and six others, including two children, were injured on Friday due to Israeli gunfire and strikes in the central and southern parts of the Gaza Strip. The assaults involved artillery shelling and heavy gunfire targeting multiple areas across the enclave, despite an existing ceasefire in place since October 10, 2025.
According to Anadolu Agency, a medical source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that the body of Ibrahim Mohammed Abu Khashan, 40, was brought to the hospital after being shot in the neck by Israeli forces near Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
Three other Palestinians, including two women and a child, suffered injuries when Israeli military vehicles fired toward the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. In southern Gaza, two Palestinians were injured in an Israeli drone strike on an electric bicycle near the industrial area west of Khan Younis. Additionally, an 11-year-old girl was moderately injured when Israeli forces opened fire in the Bir 19 area south of Khan Younis.
Witnesses and local sources reported that Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire at homes east of Deir al-Balah and the Maghazi and Bureij refugee camps. This gunfire coincided with intensive artillery shelling of eastern areas in the central Gaza Strip.
Elsewhere, Israeli artillery shelling and gunfire targeted areas northwest of Rafah and east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Shelling and gunfire also struck areas east of the Shujaiya and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods in eastern Gaza City.
The continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire have resulted in the deaths of 1,471 Palestinians and injuries to 5,189 others as of Thursday, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. Since October 2023, the conflict in Gaza has claimed the lives of over 74,000 Palestinians and injured more than 175,000, with about 90% of the enclave's infrastructure destroyed, according to Palestinian figures.
