Dani Carvajal Signs with Getafe Until 2027

Getafe:Former Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal has officially joined Spanish La Liga team Getafe on a contract set to run until June 30, 2027, as announced by the club.

According to Anadolu Agency, Carvajal, a 34-year-old right-back, joins Getafe as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Real Madrid in June. The signing was initially delayed due to La Liga's financial regulations, despite Carvajal agreeing to a significant salary reduction.

The Spanish newspaper AS reported that Carvajal's new salary at Getafe will be less than £1 million ($1.16 million), a stark contrast to his previous earnings of around £10 million annually at Real Madrid. However, Getafe has not disclosed the specific financial terms of the agreement.

During his time with Real Madrid, Carvajal secured 27 titles, including six UEFA Champions League trophies, and contributed to Spain's victories in the 2023 UEFA Nations League and the 2024 European Championship.
