Riyadh:Vietnam condemned the recent Houthi attacks on airports in Saudi Arabia. The Vietnamese Foreign Ministry's spokesperson, Pham Thu Hang, emphasized the need for restraint and adherence to international law, the United Nations Charter, and relevant UN resolutions. She urged all parties involved to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
According to Anadolu Agency, the spokesperson also called for the resumption of negotiations, stressing the importance of creating favorable conditions for dialogue to resolve differences peacefully. This approach aims to benefit the people and contribute to peace, stability, and development in the region and globally.
The condemnation by Vietnam comes amid escalating Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, which have included repeated strikes on airports. These attacks have resulted in casualties and flight disruptions. One such attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Saturday resulted in 13 fatalities and injured over 300 people. A subsequent attack on Sunday at the same airport claimed the life of a Pakistani resident and injured 11 others, as reported by Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation.
