Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Arrives in Beirut Amid Regional Tensions

Beirut:Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh, along with a diplomatic delegation, arrived at Beirut International Airport on Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the delegation was welcomed by members of Lebanon's Amal Movement, led by Khalil Hamdan, who represented Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. Parliamentarian Ali Mekdad was also present to represent Hezbollah's leadership.

The visit takes place against a backdrop of ongoing regional tensions. Israel continues its attacks on Lebanon despite a US-sponsored framework agreement that outlines a gradual withdrawal from Lebanese territory. Additionally, Iran and the United States remain at odds over navigation rights through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital maritime corridor.
