Herzliya:Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may initiate a military operation against Iran, Hezbollah, or Hamas prior to the October 27 general election, former Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman warned on Tuesday.
According to Anadolu Agency, Lieberman, who leads the opposition Yisrael Beiteinu party, made these remarks at an event in Herzliya, accusing Netanyahu of prioritizing his political survival over the nation's security.
Lieberman stated that he had no doubt about Netanyahu's intentions to pursue a military move before the election, motivated by a desire to remain in power rather than genuine security concerns. He also dismissed the idea of Netanyahu participating in a future opposition-led government, suggesting that Netanyahu should not hold any ministerial role.
The Israeli parliament, the Knesset, was dissolved on July 17, setting the stage for the upcoming general election on October 27.
