Mukhmas:Israeli occupiers reportedly set fire to a prayer room and a vehicle in the town of Mukhmas, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, early Wednesday morning, as stated by a local official.
According to Anadolu Agency, Mohammed Kanaan, a member of the municipal council in Mukhmas, confirmed that the attacks occurred around 2 a.m. local time. The occupiers also scrawled racist slogans at the site. In response, local residents immediately contacted authorities and called for firefighting crews to extinguish the blaze.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of violence by Israeli occupiers against Palestinians and their property throughout the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. The attacks have intensified during the olive harvest season, impacting Palestinian farmers.
On Monday, the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reported 136 attacks by the Israeli army and occupiers related to the olive harvest since early October. These included beatings, expulsions, intimidation, gunfire, tear gas, arrests, thefts of olives and equipment, and damage to trees, significantly affecting Palestinian farmers' livelihoods and access to land.
Israeli army raids and attacks have increased across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since the beginning of Israel's conflict with Gaza in October 2023.
