Accra:US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has called on Israeli authorities to prosecute those responsible for the attack on an American photojournalist in the occupied West Bank.

According to Anadolu Agency, Huckabee condemned the assault on Heidi Levine, a Washington Post photojournalist, labeling it a "despicable act of terror" carried out by "masked cowards." He emphasized the need for a comprehensive investigation and urged for the arrest and prosecution of the attackers to the fullest extent of the law.

Heidi Levine suffered serious injuries during the attack. Huckabee highlighted that Levine is a US citizen and clearly identified as a journalist at the time of the incident.

The US State Department expressed its concern over the attack, stating it is aware of the reports and is prepared to offer consular assistance to Levine.
