Sanaa:Yemen's government forces have conducted 780 strikes against Houthi positions in the past 24 hours, resulting in the neutralization of approximately 512 fighters and the destruction or damage of over 330 military vehicles, according to a military spokesman.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, Majed Abdullah al-Nuzayli, spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, stated that the operations were part of the ongoing 'Operation Dawn of Yemen.' The strikes targeted Houthi field commanders, troop concentrations, reinforcements, heavy weapons positions, fortified sites, and military vehicles across the northern fronts, as well as the Al-Jawf, western Marib, and Al-Bayda provinces.
The operations reportedly destroyed heavy weapons and reinforcements heading toward front lines in the Taiz province. The strikes have disrupted Houthi military operations, preventing reinforcements from reaching forward positions, thus allowing government forces to maintain their offensive.
Al-Nuzayli vowed to continue targeting Houthi military positions and reinforcements while taking precautions to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure in line with international humanitarian law. The figures for casualties and damages have not been independently verified, and there has been no immediate comment from the Houthis.
This announcement comes amid intensified fighting between government forces, supported by a Saudi-led coalition, and the Houthis across several Yemeni provinces. Earlier, Yemeni state television reported airstrikes on Houthi missile launchers, radar systems, military communications equipment, and weapons depots in Taiz.
The conflict in Yemen has been ongoing since the Houthis seized the capital, Sanaa, in 2014, leading to a Saudi-led military intervention in March 2015 to support Yemen's internationally recognized government.
