Ankara:The Turkic World is experiencing a pivotal transformation, evolving from a shared historical memory into a significant force shaping the future. This evolution is marked by increasing cooperation among nations connected by deep historical and cultural ties, especially under the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which unites around 180 million people across a vast geographical expanse.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, the OTS has significantly evolved since its inception in 2009, transitioning from a platform for political dialogue and cultural affinity to a comprehensive framework of cooperation. This transformation is underscored by the establishment of 65 cooperation mechanisms in various sectors, including economy, trade, energy, and education, among others. Notably, 32 new mechanisms have been established since 2023, reflecting an expanding agenda and increased determination among member states.
The Turkic World Vision-2040 strategy highlights the region's commitment to enhancing economic integration and connectivity. Major infrastructure projects such as the Southern Gas Corridor and the Central Asia-Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor demonstrate the Turkic states' dedication to regional and international energy security. Additionally, efforts to improve regional trade and digital solutions are underway, including initiatives like the Simplified Customs Corridor and digital TIR.
Youth and educational initiatives, such as the Turkic Universities Union and the Orhun Exchange Program, are fostering a sense of shared identity and opportunity among the younger generation. Meanwhile, plans for the Turkic ID and Common Museum Card aim to facilitate travel and cultural access within the Turkic World.
As the Turkic World continues to build upon its unique foundations, its engagement with the wider world emphasizes connectivity, innovation, and sustainable development. The upcoming 13th OTS Summit in Ankara is anticipated to further these efforts under Türkiye's Chairmanship, focusing on unity in language, thought, and deed.
The journey from historical affinity to tangible cooperation marks the Turkic World's ongoing transformation, with the collective ambition to deliver meaningful opportunities and progress for future generations. The message "Biz Birlikte Daha Gçlyz" - Together, We Are Stronger, continues to resonate as a guiding principle for the region's shared future.
