Istanbul:Trkiye's benchmark stock index, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100, closed Wednesday at 11,577.12 points, marking a 1.87% decrease from its previous closing value.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the index began the third trading day of the week at 11,733.26 points, experiencing a decline of 220.58 points from Tuesday's close. During the day, the index fluctuated between a low of 11,565.56 and a high of 11,780.89 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was approximately 11.35 trillion Turkish liras, equating to $229.45 billion, with a daily trading volume of 85.9 billion Turkish liras, or $1.73 billion. Out of the stocks on the index, 95 experienced a decline while three saw an increase in value compared to the previous close.

In related financial news, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $4,136.35, and Brent crude oil futures were approximately $108.80 per barrel as of 6.40 pm local time (1540GMT). The exchange rates were noted at 49.6025 for the US dollar against the Turkish lira, 55.7085 for the euro, and 66.4745 for the British pound.
