Moscow:Russia's Foreign Ministry has expressed dissatisfaction with Europe's current stance on engaging in discussions about its interests.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova highlighted during a press briefing that European institutions continue to impose demands on Moscow that she described as "entirely detached from reality." Zakharova criticized the European Union's approach to security, which she claimed involves arming Kyiv and preparing for potential confrontation with Russia.
Zakharova further noted that there has been no significant change in the attitude of EU politicians, pointing to the new Arctic strategy published by the EU on October 20 as an indicator of Brussels' intention to continue military development in the region. She described the strategy as lacking originality, asserting that it cements a politicized approach to the Arctic, focusing on escalation and containing Russia.
Regarding Ukraine, Zakharova accused the government in Kyiv of undermining diplomatic efforts between Moscow and Washington to resolve the ongoing conflict. She criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his alleged obsession with prolonging the war.
Furthermore, Zakharova confirmed that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will attend the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, scheduled for October 30-31. She mentioned that most organizational issues for the Russian delegation's participation have been resolved just in time for their departure.
