Beijing:Alibaba Group has announced a partnership with Apple to integrate its Qwen AI model into Apple Intelligence, specifically targeting the Chinese market.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the integration will be available for testing in the latest iOS developer beta starting November 4, with an official launch scheduled for the iOS 27.3 release in December.

The Qwen AI model will enhance several Apple features, including Siri, Writing Tools, and Visual Intelligence. Users will have control over enabling the integration and the information they choose to share, with assurances from Alibaba that user data will not be used to train AI models. The feature is designed for compatible iPhones with device location and Apple Account region set to China.

Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu emphasized that this collaboration aims to deliver new AI-driven services to Chinese users. Wang Xiaojie, a Beijing University AI expert, highlighted the significance of this partnership as a first for a major global consumer hardware company adopting a Chinese large language model for its core AI system in the Chinese market.
