Sofia:A plane arriving from Israel made an emergency landing at Sofia Airport on Tuesday after an email threat was received. This information was reported by Bulgarian National Radio (BNR), citing the Interior Ministry Secretary General Lyubomir Nikolov.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, the airline, flight details, number of passengers, and the aircraft's exact route were not initially disclosed by the authorities. Bulgarian authorities are anticipated to release further details regarding the incident and the security measures that were implemented. This event follows a similar situation on Monday when a Wizz Air flight from London to Sofia was diverted to Budapest due to a bomb threat, which later turned out to be false after security checks. Additionally, on October 18, an Austrian Airlines flight from Tel Aviv to Vienna was also diverted to Sofia following a bomb threat, but was able to continue to Vienna after no threat was found during security checks.
