Yemeni Army Conducts Over 1,200 Operations Against Houthi Positions

Sanaa:The Yemeni army announced that it has executed 1,208 military operations targeting Houthi positions, claiming to have "neutralized" approximately 370 commanders and fighters. These operations are part of the ongoing Operation Dawn of Yemen.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the Yemeni army's statement detailed that the operations involved strikes on gatherings, movements, reinforcements, fortifications, firing positions, and vehicles of the Houthi militia using fighter jets, drones, field artillery, and rocket launchers. The military also reported the destruction or disabling of about 120 vehicles and pieces of Houthi military equipment across several battlefronts.

The army did not provide a specific timeframe for these operations, and there has been no comment from the Houthi side regarding the statement. Earlier, the army announced successes in recapturing positions in Lahj province and repelling Houthi attacks in Taiz province.

The military operations are taking place amid a cautious calm along front lines in Al-Jawf and Marib provinces with no significant developments reported recently. Additionally, no new changes were noted on the Bab al-Mandab front following intense clashes on Monday. Neither side has made further advances or significant breakthroughs.

Operation Dawn of Yemen, initiated on October 5, aims to restore state control over institutions held by the Houthis and recapture the capital, Sanaa, as stated by Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi. The military escalation between the government forces and the Houthis has resulted in thousands of casualties and displaced over 250,000 people since July, according to UN reports. Yemen has been embroiled in conflict since the Houthis took control of Sanaa and other provinces in September 2014, leading to a Saudi-led coalition intervention in March 2015 in support of the internationally recognized government.
