Minster of Energy, Commerce and Industry George Papanastasiou meets the management of the Greek Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE) on Thursday who will deliver the full Cost and Benefit Analysis (CBA) for the operation of the electricity Interconnector between Cyprus, Greece and Israel called Great Sea Interconnector (GSI). The meeting is scheduled to begin on 10:00, sources told CNA. The findings of the analysis were presented in a meeting between the ADMIE and the Cypriot authorities on June 4. According to a note provided by the IPTO, the study showed that the operation of the electricity interconnector will yield a 30% reduction to the electricity bills of the Cypriot consumers by 2030. The CBA was carried out by Exergia and the National Metsovio Polytechnic of Greece. Cyprus requested an updated CBA analysis by the IPTO, which is the project promoter of GSI, in a bid to take a final investment decision to enter the project with a pound 100 million equity investment. The Ministry has assig ned the University of Cyprus, the Cyprus Institute and a private consulting firm to evaluate and analyse the report. Source: Cyprus News Agency
