Ankara: Alaska Airlines has requested a halt to all its flights due to an IT outage, according to the airline and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The airline said it requested the ground stop after experiencing an IT outage that began on Sunday night.

According to Anadolu Agency, Alaska Airlines experienced an IT outage at approximately 8 p.m. Pacific on Sunday, which is impacting their operations. A spokesperson for the airline informed Fox News that a temporary, system-wide ground stop for Alaska and Horizon Air flights was requested until the issue is resolved.

The spokesperson expressed regret over the incident and cautioned that there would be ongoing effects on operations throughout the evening. Travelers were advised to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.

A notice on Alaska Airlines' website also confirmed the issues with the IT systems. The FAA's status page showed that all destinations were affected by the ground stop of Alaska Airlines' mainline aircraft.
